Get Sophie's Editorial Look

Celebrity makeup artist, Pamela Moss explains how to get Sophie’s bardot-inspired chic look.

Makeup:

To get Sophie’s skin glowing Pamela first started with a rich moisturiser (Emryolisse Lait creme) to make sure skin was well hydrated and ready for makeup application. Next she used Laura Mercier’s radiance primer; this product not only creates a great base for long lasting foundation but also has light reflecting particles that really make the skin look luminous. She then followed with Mac Face and Body foundation. This is Sophie’s favourite foundation and a particular favourite of professional makeup artists, it’s long lasting and a light to medium coverage that gives a close-to-skin look that photographs beautifully.

For Sophies soft smokey eye look, start by grooming brows upwards and into shape. Next, Pamela used Mac print all over the lid followed by Mac Knight Divine to add shape to Sophies eyes along the top and lower lash line and blended to the outer corner and back in along the crease. Next she lined the top lash line with Mac blacktied power as eyeliner to keep the look soft and sultry. Followed by coats of Estee Lauder mascara. Pamela then added individual lashes, lengthening to the outer corners to complete the look.

To finish Sophies skin Pamela then used Chanel Soleil de tan bronze complexion just under and swept up onto Sophies cheekbones to give the cheeks and face definition, followed by a light sweep of Nars Doucer powder blush on the highest point of the cheeks.

Lastly Pamela used Bobbi Brown Pale Pink lipstick as a stain with a touch of Chanel rouge coco gloss in Icing (Pamela’s all time favourite lip gloss) over the top to make lips look fuller. Pro Tip: Use a beige kohl pencil (such as Mac chromographic pencil in NC15/NW20) along the outer part of your lip line in the cupids bow area and blend gently with your finger. This will make lips appear fuller and give you a more pronounced lip line.

Hair

Sophie is renowned for her fabulous hair. To get a similar look use Babyliss heated rollers to give the same curl and volume. For Sophies soft curls use the larger sized rollers. Allow them to fully cool (at least 10 minutes) then tip head back and rake hair though lightly with fingers followed by setting with a light hold hairspray. We used Elnett.  Tip: Don’t brush your curls as they will drop out too quickly.
